Home Sweet Home

After 10 weeks of school, it feels great to be back. To the comfort of home, to the loved ones, to the warmth of Malaysia (although too warm at times)... This is Home. Greeted at the airport by my beloved bf, with roses in his hand for me. =D (Heh. Really excited when I saw that.) Thanx to my mum, who sacrificed and let Hazmi picked me up instead. It meant a lot to me.

Well, that's not much to tell yet. Have been jet-lagging for 2 days already... this is my 3rd night. Hmm, don't remember having trouble sleeping b4. Whatever... Like I never stayed up late and go to sleep only when the sun's rising.

Receiving-the-belt celebration

After the incident, we are more motivated to go for Jitsu training. We must be able to protect ourselves if we ever got attacked one day. (Hopefully never) Anyway, most of us are now yellow belt jitsukas, received the belt officially last Wednesday. After training (which is harder now, gosh), we went for a drink to celebrate (receiving belt ceremony). Apparently, you have to drink alcohol with the same colour as the belt you receive in Jitsu (non-alcoholic for me and mimi). This is the picture of us, with Sensei Alex, who didn't want to be in the picture but got snapped anyway.

Unlucky incident

On Wednesday, while waiting to go to Japanese class, Aida suddenly called me. She was crying, telling us her things got stolen and asked us to come back immediately. Mimi & I were worried so we rushed back home. She was not at home when we arrived which made us panicked for awhile. Lucky we managed to call her and she was on the way home with Basyar, Lomon and Amir. Here's the whole story:
When Aida was walking home alone, one black guy followed her to the front door asking for a plastic bag, showing all his stuff he was holding. Being the kind Aida, she asked the man to wait outside, closed the door and went to take the plastic bag. When she opened the door to give the plastic bag, the man asked, "Can I come inside?". "No. Why?", Aida replied. Out of a sudden, he threw all his things on the floor, blocking Aida from closing the door. Desperate not to be trapped, Aida pushed her way out of the house. The guy took the opportunity to went inside and stole anything that he could find in the living room. Realising Aida was outside, he went to the door and asked Aida to come in, which again, Aida refused. Lucky her, there was a neighbour nearby so she said, I'm going to call the neighbour and was halfway walking to him. Panicked, the mugger quickly said, "Ok. Ok. I'm leaving." However, he managed to stole Aida's purse and PDA, Dina & Rye's PS2 and XDA.
Aida went in the house, called HSBC to cancel all her cards until she realised she couldn't find her keys. Scared that the guy might come back, she ran out of the house to the nearest shop to our house, not wanting to go to the same direction as the guy. Then she called her housemates and the guys, who came immediately. (Thanx u guys) When everyone's at home, we went to make a police report.
The good thing is no one's hurt. Only some valuable things are stolen. But Aida's safe. Don't worry Aida. We are proud of you that you quickly ran away and saved yourself rather than trying to be brave and "protect the house". We can buy the gadgets but we can't buy your safety. Alhamdulillah, everyone's safe.

Yellow Belt Jitsu

Prior to the grading, I was so scared that I had a minor breakdown. As usual, I let it out by crying. Siewch found me on her way to econs and comforted me. Went to class with red eyes. I dunno why I was so stressed out. I guess last week's experience of not-be-able-to-breathe and nearly-break-a-rib because I can't break fall properly when someone kicked me down really bugged me. And we had this perception of grading would be more horrible than the pre-grading (which is horrible enough) And my lack of practice, my not-so-neat techniques, my forgetfulness especially when I'm under pressure and ...~
The night b4 grading, we went to MC's Malam Bakti. The play was good and entertaining. Went back immediately after Drog blowed her candles. Dina and Aida helped Mimi & I do some last minute practice on the techniques. Then, we went to sleep. (Supposedly, but I called my bf and get into a fight with him. Sorry honey. Blame the pressure. heh)
The grading was held in London South Bank Uni Sports Hall, Elephant and Castle. All of us arrived early. Yan gave each of us a Mars bar. I think it was his birthday that day. Pity huh, grading on birthday. But the Mars bar must be a good luck charm. After 3 hours of running around, punching, doing arm & wrist locks, forward, side, backwards rolls (which made me really dizzy), showing dangerous parts on the head, body and back and a few others, all of us passed the grading (I mean, from LSE). Some earn extra points than others. Mimi was the only one from our team passed with Yellow2. Hehe. Good job Mimi. I know u can do it WELL so I'm not actually surprised. Even our sensei have faith in you. Anyway, I graded with Yellow1 which is good enough considering all body parts intact and no broken bones. =D

2 more weeks to go...

Another week has past. The new stupid locker combination-lock got stuck. Spent another 40 minutes to be able to open that one. Changed it to key-lock at last. Better not stuck this time. Won't be able to try all keys to open it like what we did to the combination lock when we tried all number combinations from 0-0-0 to any combination that can undo the lock. Confusing? Forget it.
Went to Jitsu's pre-grading yesterday. Was kinda scary. Got thrown by a guy and nearly broke my rib. Lucky I'm still in one piece today (so Mummy & Syg, don't worry kay. If the pain worsen, I'll call u guys straight away). However, my whole body's aching. Can't move around easily. Managed to cut the grass in the backyard though, with Aida's help. hehe. Quite a big achievement since we've been putting it aside for weeksssss. Never realised we have quite a spacious backyard. =p
Owh, Shepard's Bush residence has finally made it to Manor House yesterday. After a quick lunch, Azz watched Greg's Anatomy while DRog, Yat and Lion played the dance mat. Dina coached them like a real instructor. Hey, u guys were really good, fast-learners. :) It's really addictive, right. hehe. I think DRog can't get enough of it. I fell asleep in Mimi's room for awhile and when I woke up, they were still playing... or I should say dancing.
Cold day is making me hungry ALL the time. Help me! I can't stop eating. Need to stop typing and find more food~

3rd Syawal Weekend

Time flies, huh. It is already the 3rd weekend in Syawal. Whoever haven't started their 6 days Syawal fast better hurry. You still have time. Yesterday, Dina, Aida and I went to Aimi & Ufah's open house. Oh my. They cooked a LOT. Nasi lemak, Laksa asam, Laksa Kelantan, Roti jala, Lompat tikam, triffle... Lucky we didn't eat breakfast before that. Obviously we ate so much until we felt like bursting. hehe. But thanx guys. The food was really delicious.
We left quite early coz Dina wanted to go to Primark. Initially, I didn't plan to buy anything in particular, just wanted to look around. However, I came back with a bag full of clothes and other stuff. I actually passed a bundle of socks that me & Aida were sharing to her to "reduce" my total expenditure in one receipt. =p Crazy. It makes no difference. I know. Haha.
On Sunday, the whole house except Mimi, who was tired from her travelling to Sheffield the day b4, woke up early and did some house chores. I was trying to cut the grass in our backyard when I heard Dina fell down the stairs. I thought it wasn't that serious. Turned out she can't feel her legs. There was an emergency state in our house for awhile but luckily she got better.
Mimi & I later went to another jitsu weekend training for novices at ULU Gym. Lucky us this time we didn't come back with bruises. We went for a drink after that. This time juices, not coke. Looks like going to be a trend. Hmmph. Ah well. Weekend's over. Another week to go.

Went to pub for the 1st time

Yesterday, for the 1st time I went to Jistu alone. Mimi was busy working on her essay so she decided to skip jitsu for that night. But I surely need LOTS of practice if I am really going for the grading this December so I went anyway. Technically, I was not alone. I managed to persuade Andrew to come along (but he was kinda mean during training. heh. just kidding)
After the training session, as usual, our sensei invited us for a drink in a nearby pub. Usually, I'd be reluctant to go. Being in a pub would make me feel really uncomfortable. I dunno what's with me that night but I decided to give it a shot. So I went along. Of course, I dragged Andrew along. Going alone would be especially scary for me, a 1st timer going to a pub. We didn't stay that long, only about half an hour maybe so on the way home, I didn't tell my housemates that I was going to be late. I thought they wouldn't worry about me coz I didn't get any phone call or text from them yet. However, when I was walking back home alone, I called Aida coz the place was really quiet. Only then I got to know how worried my housemates were. When I got home, I got a looong speech on how important it is to tell them before hand if I'm going to be late. Hehe. I was a little bit surprised to receive such a long warning BUT I AM REALLY TOUCHED to know that they do care for me. Wonderful housemates I have, huh ;)

Open house

hello peeps. Thanx to u guys who came for our open house last Sunday. For those who couldn't make it, it's alright. We understand (whatever the reason was. heh =p) Those who came really made it a success. (Thank them) At first, I was kinda worried that ppl won't be able to come at all and our home-cooked food would have to go to waste. Then, around 1.30pm, my ex-flatmate arrived. After that, ppl started to show up batch-by-batch. Whew! These are some of the pictures. Sorry if your face aren't in any of them. I picked them up randomly. But u know who u r =D

The 1st 3 ppl to arrive

Food: Aida cooked laksa lemak (family recipe), Dina made the Kuah Kacang, I fried the Kuey teow and Mimi did the dessert (cake & triffle), all from scratch. Well, I was actually monitored while doing the cooking so no worries. I'm sure no one had stomach ache from eating the Kuey teow, hmm I guess it was alright. We also gave a short tour around the house to our guests. Sha actually went to each and every room to take pictures with "special things" in there with her partner in crime, Natte. That's a picture in my room, with my Disney snowglobes and a potret of me & Hazmi.

Natte, Yas, Sha, Mikel, Mad and Apu stayed longer. We had LOTS of fun "exercising". hehe. Watching the guys being sporting and tried out was even more exciting. Haha. I really appreciate your presence ppl. Do come again eh.

Selamat Bertunang Kak Ina

Today's a historical day in Hazmi's family. Kak Ina's officially engaged. My mum and brother were lucky to get the chance to be there but I'm so far away over here. Wish I could be there too. My man wore a complete gold baju melayu with samping and songkok. At 1st, I was kinda wondering how gold would suit him. Then, I tortured abg to send Hazmi's pictures to me. Wow. Nice honey =D Look great on you. Bleh laa kite kawin nanti pakai gold??? hehe. Love u, angel. Muahs!

Missing MMU & Mash's having a Baby!

When I quit MMU in 2002, my body had reacted biologically to the emotional stress I was having. I had systoms quite similar to a pregnant woman (my mum initially thought I was) which I found amusing; usually dizzy, feeling nausea and my period was a week late. The thing is when I got my scholarship to further my studies abroad, I was torn apart. I love staying in Malaysia but I really want to go overseas. Then, my mum told me that my emotional unstability had caused me all the "sickness" I was having.
Then, after completing my 1st year with great difficulties, I went back for Summer and spent most of my time in MMU, generally, or with my bf, precisely. When I was waiting for my bf outside his classroom, I realise how much I miss the environment there. The feel, the smell, the scenery. Sounds very dramatic but the peaceful, quiet afternoon did make me feel that way. I didn't think I would miss MMU that much but now my body is reacting the same way again. Hmm, what your body can tell you even when you yourself don't realise your current emotional state.
Anyway, I would like to congratulate Mash and hubby for the pregnancy and wishing u both all the best for the future. First TKCian 9701's baby. ;)

"Soul-call"

I have a 9 O'-Clock class on Mondays so I have to wake up early. Before going back to sleep after sahur, I set my alarm twice, 6.20a.m. & 6.40a.m. The sleepy me turned off the 1st alarm b4 fell asleep again straight away. After the 2nd one went off, I was still sleepy so I decided to call Hazmi with hope that he could wake me up. I thought I had dialled his number, even heard he said hello when the phone I was holding rang. Hazmi's name flashed at the display screen. So I asked, "Why did u call me back? Did I fall asleep while I was talking to you?" "No, I called you straight away after I woke up", he answered. Apparently, the last time I called him was last night, meaning I didn't call him yet that morning coz I fell asleep immediately. Well, we didn't usually call each other every morning so that's quite a coincidence. Our theory is that my soul "went" to Malaysia to "call" him when I fell back to sleep. Nice. Free telecommunications means. Haha

68, Beechfield Road

Hello ppl. I'm back in London... 2 weeks already now. Currently staying at Beechfield road with Dina, Aida & Mimi. Nice place but quite far from the tube station. We just got out internet connection this afternoon so I guess I should update this blog more frequently. What's there to tell? Apart from bz making this house more homely, we just settled some stuff like buying books, changed class, applied NUS & travelcard, and of course, going to lectures. I met Fina (my friend from Brunei) and her parents last week. Very friendly ppl, they are. Haven't met them for quite some time actually. Exchanged gossips and ppl's secret ;p (Not so a secret now.) Then went to Yas's bday party at Holiday Villa for buka puasa last Saturday. Ate so much until there's no more room in there. hehe. Delicious cake, Natte. Yumm!!! Hmm, what else? All my housemates are not-feeling-well. Aida & Dina coughing, Mimi had fever and sore throat. I'm the only one left which is quite surprising. Maybe I got fatter so have more resistence to germs. Or maybe the effect is delayed. Hope it's the 1st one although I hate to admit I'm fatter. Anyway, my new academic year resolution is to become a nerd. Not so successful now but still trying. Glad to have ambitious housemates to keep me on track. So here's the new me. Nerd-in-the-making.
Happy Ramadhan, everyone!!! =)

Mummy & Abg Meet The Parents

A lot had happened this Summer. I just met Hazmi's parents last July for the 1st time. Now, my mum and my bro had met them too. :) Hazmi's parents tried to invite mummy and abg to come over a few times before this but knowing my mum, she's always busy. Finally, she had to agree when his parents invited us over, again, a week b4 my holiday ends, for dinner, just our immediate families. After a long discussion, mummy & abg agreed on Saturday. I found it funny that abg was also busy. Actually he had extra classes as he'll be sitting for big exam next month. Not PMR, something equivalent, Junior High Exam something, not so sure what it's called. =p We were supposed to have another dinner that night, some UPM's occasion but since they didn't have any more free time (as I am always free for Hazmi. hehe), mummy cancelled that dinner.
We arrived there around 9-ish. A little bit late as Hazmi's house is in Nilai and we drove all the way there from Setapak after maghrib (plus the getting ready bit). Mr Abdul Halim greeted us 1st, followed by his wife, Pn Noriah. Hehe. Hazmi's lovely parents, of course, who else. Abg handed him our small gift. A basket of sparkling juice, dates & fruit. (Took us a whole week to think of what to bring.) Then, his mum suggested that we have our dinner immediately b4 the food gets cold. The chattering was lively =D as everyone's trying to get to know each other. Pn Noriah sat at the table end while I was beside En Abdul Halim ;) and Hazmi beside Mummy. Nice seat arrangement ;p Abg, who was smiling ear-to-ear when En Abdul Halim commented that he's bigger than me, sat on my left. Abby helped served the food so she was around too but did not join in. We had a delicious Negeri Sembilan dinner, daging salai masak kuning and omelette (my fav), fried chicken, ulam and mixed vege. After that, the parents continued chatting in the living room while the children just sat there looking at each other. haha. Kak Ina came back around 10 something. I did not want to go back early but I had to go back and continue packing as my flight's at 9 the very next morning. Well, that was just my excuse. Actually I did not want to disturb them as it was kinda late. We went back around 11. I think it went well. ReAlly ReaLLY HappY! hehe...

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Wow. Unbelievable. We are officially 3 years now. When we started our relationship, it was tough. Both were immature as this is the 1st relationship for both of us. Who would have thought that we could manage to be together until today. But here we are, crossing our 3rd year mark. Sayang dear, I am proud to be with you. We sure worked hard to build this relationship. ;) Loving u more & more everyday.

Although it is our 3rd anniversary, this is the 1st time we celebrate it officially. Hazmi came and picked me up around 8.45pm. Wanted to go to Menara KL but it was fully booked although we called like 4 days earlier so we went to San Fransisco Steakhouse, The Summit, USJ instead. It was really wonderful. I felt like dreaming. It was really exclusive, the place and the music, everything was perfect. I didn't want that night to end. After we finished our steaks, we went for a drive around KL. It was way after mid-night when we bid our goodbyes. I had a wonderful night, sweetheart. Can we do this every year? ;p

Writing from FBL, MMU, Melaka

Hi, all. I'm in Melaka again now. Arrived yesterday afternoon around 12.45pm. Didn't plan to come actually but quite worried to hear that Hazmi's not well. So here I am. Wanted to go back yesterday but after seeing him coughing and all, I decided to stay. Well, he's suppose to have a lecture now but he's beside me surfing the net too. Hmm... What to say... Anyway, we're in Faculty Business & Law Comp. Lab. Quite cosy here. Hehe. Might be going back this evening. Ok then. Laters :p

Froggies 2001 revisits CS

It's been awhile since we went back to TKC. I was really excited when Zanna told me bout Aliyya's plan to give a talk to the current F5s. Had to really persuade Zanna to come along, who later persuaded Ima & Yuyun too. (Class spirit, I see) So on Friday, I met Aliyya, Am, Che Fara & Salma at KL Central. Suppose to meet Wafa at Serdang and Zanna at UKM. Ima, however, who decided to come along at the very last minute took the 7pm bus from Melaka and would only arrived in Seremban after 8. So I made a detour. Stopped at UKM instead of Seremban, met Zanna and my bf came picked us up a few minutes later so that we could pick Ima up from Seremban and being sent straight to TKC.

Well, that night was quite chaotic. Everyone's excitedly catching up with friends, the juniors and later our CSs and F1s, who are now in F5. Can't believe it that we were there again. Took a walk around the college and had a brief meeting b4 we went to sleep (or just wondering around the sick bay for some of us) about how we are going to conduct the talk the next day. Aliyya devided the task and everyone was pleased to know that the talk would be carried out informally. So no pressure on us. Fuhh..

Waking up in the fresh air of Bukit Merbah, to the sound of ppl marching in front of the sick bay brought back memories from the past. Honestly, as much as I wished to be out of this place b4, I admitted I really miss the atmostphere there. Sadly, this may be the last time to enjoy the environment b4 we move to Nilai in a few years time. After taking our breakfast, we went to the hall, Dewan Budiman, for the talk. I would say it went as planned, or better. Informal, everyone gets a chance to share their advises and experience while more ppl arrived and information was actually passed on. We talk bout how to face exam pressures, how to tackle specific papers, try to give them more confidence and even used some dirty tricks by showing off fun pictures from local and oversea universities. We also gave some career advises. In the end, we sang the college song together. It was overwhelming to see such spirit in the girls. Keep the flag flying up high, huh! =D

Road Trip

It's hard to plan this trip because Hazmi's still having his lectures and classes while Azmir's working. So we tried hard to squeeze everything in one weekend. The initial plan was to go to Pulau Kapas but since it's quite far, we settled for Pulau Pangkor instead.

29th July 2005
While Mimi & I just waited patiently at our respective homes, Hazmi's rushing all the way from Melaka after Friday prayer & Azmir tried to come back as soon as he could from work. Hazmi reached my house @ nearly 5pm and we reached Mimi's house around 7.30pm. Since we couldn't catch the last boat to Pangkor, Hazmi's dad suggested that we stayed in Cameron Highland that night instead of staying in Lumut. Unfortunately, Mimi's mum was very worried to let us drive up to Cameron that night because it's getting dark. I don't blame her, I would be too if I, myself, am a mother. But every1 of us tried as best as we could to catch the sunlight, it was just not our luck. So we tried very hard to convince her mother that everything would be alright. After promosing to drive slowly up the hill and to call as freqently as possible, she let us go. After a long winding road up, we filled our empty stomach at Tanah Rata and arrived at Casa de la Rosa at approximately 11pm.

30th July 2005What a fresh morning. Wake up for breakfast. When to Cactus Park, Strawberry Park, had Strawberry juice, and went to a market. Lucky us, we found buah pulasan. Azmir and I shared the cost to buy it for Mimi & Hazmi coz both of them never ate pulasan b4. Met Hazmi's parents there. Then, we went back to the hotel to check out and had lunch together in Tapah.
After that, we set off to Pangkor. I was happily singing until Hazmi decided to change the CD to oldies songs. When I really couldn't stand it anymore after a few rounds, I wanted to borrow Mimi's ipod. Realising I was bored, they changed the radio to hitz. Owh, well. How pampered I was. We managed to board the 5.45pm boat and checked in at Pangkor Coral Bay Resort. Had seafood dinner at Teluk Nipah, where Hazmi could watch his AF3 on Astro Ria. Subsequently, we had our sparkling grape juice again at the beach b4 we went to bed.
31st July 2005Happy Birthday, Baby! Well, NOT ME. MY Baby, Hazmi! haha. Don't get confused :p Anyway, after breakfast, all 4 of us went to the beach. Wanted to go for snokelling and boat ride. Took a boat to a place full of ppl so the 'driver' left us at a small island instead. Promised to come back after only half an hour, he only came back after an hour. So there goes our boat ride coz we had to go back immediately to check out. Damn u ppl. Ops... Excuse the language. Nothing much happened in Pangkor. We checked out and started our journey home.
On the way back, we stopped for lunch at UTP. That was the 1st time for all 4 of us to arrive in UTP. Aliy became our tourist guide. The group was joined by Azmir's friend, Faezah. Azmir took over the wheel after that. So Hazmi and I had our rest. Nearing Sg Buloh, we took another detour, to KMYS and to Pn Nor Ain's house, Azmir's and my accounts teacher.
After dropping off Mimi & Azmir, Hazmi and I continued our journey to Mid Valley and bought Stealth midnight tickets. Impressive, I would say, because I was really tired and sleepy but managed to stay awake until the end of the show.

I Passed My Exams!

There can be miracles...
The long awaited day had finally arrived. My exam result is out, officially released at 12pm London time, meaning 7pm Malaysian time, 13th July 2005. I went all the way to Melaka just for this 'special occasion' because I was afraid to check it at home. In the evening, I was very restless, checking my watch every few minutes from 6pm onwards. Went to Cyber Cafe around 9 pm to check my result but the server was busy. Obviously, EVERYONE was checking their results too. Why can't they just check it some other time. I must not be the only one panicking, I guess. Siewch msg me coz she managed to check hers and get through her 1st year. After that, I was even more restless that my bf was actually worried. He tried everything to calm me down. Try to make me smile, took me out for a drink. But everything didn't seem to work.
Then, to my surprise, my dearest bf took me to the beach, bringing with him 2 plastic bags containing a bottle of sparking red grape juice and 2 tall glasses he bought from JJ b4 we went there. In a effort to cheer me up, he planned a very romantic drink on the beach! I was touched, really thankful to have such a sweet bf. Unfortunately, I was still miserable. Tried my best to show him how I appreciate that effort but I think I spoiled the mood for the night. Nevertheless, we sat there, watched the moon and stars, heard the waves hitting the sands, went for a stroll on the beach and just savoured the quiet moments together. I wished the night would never end, for every second with him fills my heart with joy. My worries seemed distant at that time.

At last, b4 he sent me back to Izza's place, we went to the CC again to check my result. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I clicked 'Exam Result' on LseForYou and was very happy to see that I passed all papers that I sat for, allowing me to proceed to my 2nd year this September. Alhamdullilah, I was so thankful although my result was NOT that satisfactory at all, at least, I don't have to repeat my 1st year. Anyone who has been following my blog at least since June, would have known how worried I was that I might have to repeat my 1st year. Having received that news, I jumped happily around, called my mother who was already asleep, and sms some of my close friends. I just can't stop smiling. Well, now that I passed my papers, I do have to work harder in my 2nd year for I definitely DO NOT WANT to repeat this experience. It was very torturing. In addition, 2nd year papers accounted for 4/9 of the degree and since i do not carry forward a good grade from my 1st year, NO MORE FOOLING around. It's time to work hard... I hope...hmm

Meet The Parents

The Magical 9th of July 2005

Once, i teased my bf for bringing his friend home but i never went there. To my surprise, he actually considered that matter and said that he's going to have a birthday party at his house and invited me to come. I was excited but nervous at the same time. Meeting his parents and family would definitely bring our relationship a step forward to a new level. He had met both my parents but long time ago, he told me that he would only bring me to meet his parents when our relationship is really serious. So when he finally ask me to come, i was panic. Haha. Don't get me wrong. It's not because i think we are not that serious yet. I was panic because i really want them to accept me. I had no problems with my friends' parents before, it is just that this time, Hazmi is not just a friend.

My best friend friend, Nadia, accompanied me there. She actually had to take time off work for me. But i really need her moral support for this occasion. Lucky me it is just a birthday party, not a formal dinner thingy that can make me really uncomfortable. Nadia and I arrived at Nilai komuter station around 8.00pm. Hazmi picked us up b4 we went for Maghrib prayers @ a mosque nearby. Then, when we arrived at his house, we stayed in the car for awhile. My bf asked, "So r u ready? This is a point of no return." I answered, "Well, i don't plan on returning but i'm afraid whether they'll accept me or not." After taking a really deep breathe, we went in.

I was greeted by his elder sister, Kak Ina, immediately. I never met her b4 but she made me feel really welcomed. The birthday party was actually for her and my bf. Hers in June, and my bf's in July. Then i saw his younger sister, Abby, who i'm more familiar with, and waved to her as well. Once inside, i went to meet his mom immediately. Hehe. She's really nice and warm. I'm so happy to meet her at last. After handing her "house-warming" gift, she invited us to eat. Me and Nadia took our pieces of cake and took our seat outside the house since it was a garden party. After a few minutes, i was really uncomfortable, then i told my bf, i wanna go inside. We took a seat in the living room. Later, Abby and friends joined us there. Saw and meet some of his relatives. Watch AF with the crowd. Talk to his cousin, Dilla. Said hi to his friends from Melaka, Chemax, Bazel and Badi. Well, it was a great night. Although Hazmi was kinda bz attending to guests' needs, he was with me most of the time.

Then, b4 we went back, it was time to meet his father. I was really2 nervous. God, please let help me. Please let him accept me. To my surprise, he came to me with a smile on his face. My "nervousness" melted down instantly. He even shook my hand. Then he said "Heard a lot bout u but i never met u". Still in shock, i answered "Well, here i am" That's the only words i can think of. My mind was kinda numb that time. Haha. The very talkative Farah Haida was lost for words. Well, i remember answering a few questions but i didn't ask any question back. Hmm, maybe i should have to look more friendly. But as far as i can see, everything's alright. And i really hope it IS.

I can't really put it in words how happy i am that i've met his parents at last. And i really thankful that everything went well. Thanx to my sweetheart for his encouragement, Nadia for her support (i owe u a lot, gurl) and most importantly, his parents, sisters and relatives for their warmth and kindness. I felt really welcomed and accepted.

Home Sweet Home...

Hey, ppl! I'm back. Sorry i didn't post anything for such a looong time. No excuses, i was NOT busy, just didn't have the mood to do anything at all, including blogging. I wanted to go home badly so here i am. hehe. Feels so good to be back. When our plane, the MH007, touched down in Langkawi at approximately 1.30pm on the 27th of June, i was so so happy. Walking down the stairs, i shouted "Dah sampai Malaysia!!!" loudly. Luckily the plane was too loud so my shout was barely audible.

Mimi, Me, Nun & Aida at Langkawi International Airport

1st Breakfast in Malaysia after approximately 6 months. Haha. I was so thrilled to have so many malaysian food selection for breakfast. It's time to have a feast.

Iced Horlicks & A mixture of nasi goreng, bihun goreng, kuey teow goreng, ayam goreng

U can guess how much i miss my Mr Mohd Hazmi. So, forget jetlag, on the next day in Malaysia itself, i took a bus to Melaka to meet my guy ;) Owh, the bus fare has increased from RM8 to RM9.60. Ok, the inflation is quite high, 20% increase. I only left Malaysia for 6 months. *sigh* Well, at least the taxi fare to MMU is still the same RM6. I took a cab to MMU and waited Hazmi in front of his classroom. He was surprised to see me standing there when he came out of the class. Haha. He was supposed to fetch me from the bus station. We, then, went for lunch and watched Mr & Mrs Smith as promised a few weeks back. Later, he took the trouble to send me all the way to KL. Hehe. Love u, honey.

Mr & Mrs Hazmi

Alrite ppl. I'll try to "pay back" the entries that i owed you. Till then, tata.

Cambridge Trip - 18th June 2005

While waiting to go back to Malaysia for summer holiday, we were very lazy to do anything. Although we were supposed to go around London, take the opportunity of staying in the heart of the city, we actually just wasted our time, sleep and rise late. Then, Siewch said, Sin Yi invited us to go to Cambridge for CIMB talk. The good news was, our transportation cost would be reimbursed. So it's like a free trip to Cambridge.
Siewch, Pei Theng, Pei Ru, Mimi & I went there by train from King's Cross. Some1 mentioned that Harry Porter movies were filmed here so we went looking for the platform 9 3/4. To our surprise, there was actually a wall, labeled Platform 9 3/4, with a trolley halfway stuck to the wall.
Platform 9 3/4 @ King's Cross Train Station
When i reached Cambridge town, my 1st impression was the town itself looks like some scenes from Harry Porter movies. The buildings are old and impressive. Big and a lot of carvings. I just took the pictures but don't ask me what buiding it is. I have no idea. Some colleges... hehe.
We surely didn't miss the chance to go panting. Pei Ru asked her friend's help to take us panting coz it is either u take a tour guide or a Cambridge student with u. We had a comfortable ride through out the journey and on the way back, each of us got the chance to try panting ourselves. The experience is priceless but we surely need more practise to be able to pant ourselves next time around. haha.

Panting experience & The Bridge of Sighs
Well, basically, that's it. I was kinda sleepy during the CIMB talk coz i didn't sleep at all the night b4. But i heard them promoting CIMB, mainly about investment banking. Other jobs seekers are welcomed too.

What If?

I just finish reading a book titled "What If?", written by Asma Pumpi Moore. It is about her suffering, growing up in a Pakistani Muslim family and being the victim of domestic violence while she was married to an Irish man. Very enlightining and sad. I pity the author. 1stly, for all the pain and sufferings that she had to go through and 2ndly, for all her misunderstandings against Islam. Reading that book makes me comtemplate my own life. Her test of faith is far greater from what i had to go through. Mine is Nothing compared to her experience. After reading it, i realised i have SOooOO Many things to thank God for.
1: I am thankful to be born a Muslim
2: I am thankful to be born a Malaysian
3: I am thankful to be born into my family
4: I am thankful to be given chances & opportunity to do what i want
5: I am thankful to have such an understanding and supportive mum
6: I am thankful to have such a nice, caring boyfriend
7: I am thankful to have such a sweet abg
8: I am thankful to have great friends
And the list is endless.

In the middle of my depression for my failure to perform well in my 1st year. i will now try to accept my fate that i had inflicted onto my life myself. This is my test. It is so minor compared to what other ppl in this world might have to go through. But that does NOT mean i give up. It means whatever the result is, i will fight back if i have the chance to do so and definitely try to do my best. Though i've said that like a thousand times b4 and there was still no difference in my attitude to work harder, i will not give up! Yes, i will have to be resilient.

The Magical Day Is Finally Here!

I'm not trying to promote my birthday. Most visitors here know my birthday anyway so it is not at all a secret. Yeah! 6 June is here again. Marking my age up by a year. I'm 21 years old now, or in other words, i'm old. Looks like, i'm now officially an adult. Before today, i consider myself being in the 'in-between' "i'm not a girl, not yet a woman" phase in my life. Now i've entered the womanhood era. Hmm, is that right? Haha. Sounds funny to me. Coz i remember my cousin's husband quoted me as "a baby without expiry date." What do YOU think?
Only this year that i get to know 21st birthday is a special event. Siewch told me, Chinese parents traditionally would give their children a key on this day as a symbol of freedom. Ahh, well. I got my freedom looOoong time ago. I can't even remember when. I have a very cool mum. ;) So that has nothing to do with my birthday this year.
U must be thinking, ape kaitan gambar tuh ngan entry nih? Haha, nothing. That's my favourite picture at the moment, with my "newly declared" favourite flower = Yellow Tulips. Yup, among my "achievements" during this past year is to find my favourite flower at last. Hmm, I hafta go back to studying stats. GrRrR! Having an exam on a birthday is not great. Anyway, thanx to everyone who did wish me. =) That's so sweet of u guys. I ReAlLy2 appreciate the thought.

I DON'T WANNA REPEAT MY 1ST YEAR!

Yesterday, i was thinking: I dun wanna repeat any of my 1st year paper & hope to get good grades for the other 3. Today, after completing 3 papers, which i didn't complete anyway, i just hope that i don't hafta repeat the whole year again. Suddenly, repeating 1 paper is not so bad after all. Yeah, i have no one else to blame but myself. I'm sorry to everyone that's affected by my performance. My mom, Hazmi dear, JPA, my bro and some of my friends that put very high hopes on me. I'M REALLY SORRY. I screwed my 1st year. I admit that. Still hoping that i dun hafta repeat any paper at all, i promise myself that i will work hard next year onwards. I'm typing this down here so that NEXT YEAR, i will definitely remember this unpleasant experience of my life as student.
AAAAhhhh, my head feels like exploding. Not becoz of too much information, but bcoz of too much pressure. Lalala, mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the laziest of them all... YOU ARE, FarahHaida. And now u deserve this. The stupidiest of them all. Huwaa...

Arghh, i hate exams.....

Do i need to say more?

"you feeling sad, you're feeling lonely
but no one seems to care,
your mother's gone and your father hates you,
this pain you cannot bear"

Ok, that is just the lyrics. My mom's not gone. And i dun think my dad hates me...

What kind of person am i?

Certainly a lazy one. hehe. Just finished my 1st paper today. I would say, "Not good". Isk, sad news, huh? Despite being in the middle of exam period, i'm not posting anything exam related. Something else caught my attention. Anyone close to me would actually notice, anytime nearing exam period, i would always say i want to get married. (A very lame excuse for my refusal to study) Lately though, i've been saying that so frequently like chanting a mantra or something even during non-exam periods. (Must hate studying that much. hehe) Talked to my mum just now. She told me that, ppl (my relatives, i'm guessing) once thought that i would be a stubborn young lady who refuses to get married early, which is a complete different picture of what's happening now. Must be surprising, a girl who refused to have a boyfriend when she was growing up, met a guy, fell in love for the 1st time and settling down so quickly. And i thought it's normal... ??? Maybe they are just comparing me now with me back then, when i was a stubborn girl who fiercely sent all guys away. So, back to the question, what kind of person am i? NOT the stubborn young lady who refuses to get married early.
haha. [posting this to push down the "sad" picture of me. =p]
p/s: eh, i am NOT getting married yet. That's not what i meant by settling down. Not in the nearest 2 3 years at least. Hope u won't get the wrong impression, heh

Hazmi's departure

hey, all! The precious 20 days is now officially over. Hazmi boarded the MH 0003 at 12 o'clock local time and arrive in Malaysia around 7am Malaysia time. What can i say? i really had a great time when he was here. Was never lonely, always had company, sometimes get into silly fights, being crazily childish, had some1 to make sure i eat my meals, watch movies together. Ok. i'm not in the mood to type anything write now. Even the weather is much colder today. Not fair, gets colder when Hazmi's not here. :( u can see for yourself my current condition

Paris Trip Reunion

It hasn't been that long since our Paris trip but we had our reunion already. hehe. (Following the Malam Bakti cast members step, i guess. Jk) It is not supposed to be one though. Had been planning to go to My Old Dutch since Mimi went to eat Pancakes there with the cast members. Asked Mimi, Dina, Siewch & Aida when should we go. Turns out, Dina & Siewch wanted to go after exam. Must be studying hard ;) Since i wanted to take Hazmi there, i need to go this week. Mimi doesn't mind going there twice. Aida said, call her at that time, if she's awake, she'll come along. So i did. Even invited Mikel at the very last minute coz his nick that time was 'lapar, lapar.' But in the end, there was only the 4 of us, again. There u go. We even took pictures of our group badges/pins that we bought in Disneyland. Yeah! Our Paris trip rawks...
p/s: Sorry Dina. If i had known that u wanted to come along, i'd have invited u at the last minute as well. The more the merrier. We'll go together next time after exam kays...

Ring and bracelet

Hey guys... It's been awhile since i updated my blog. I've been, u know, bz bz bz. Cherishing every second of Hazmi's presence here. The thought of him going back this Sunday is very2 depressing but i really hafta start studying hard instead of wasting my time mourning. Before i know it, it's time to go back again to Malaysia. Home Sweet Home~
Hehe, this is a pic of our gift for each other. I (at last) managed to bought him a ring (wanted to buy him one for sooo long). It is a two-pieced puzzle ring. Some ppl, including him, suggested that i take one of the pieces and he keeps the other one. I refuse to coz it's too big for me to wear it. My argument is, if he wears them together at the same time, our love is always complete. Anyway, he bought me a beautiful bracelet with two heart-shaped-diamonds dangling from it, from M&S ;) hehe. Thanx sweetheart!
